Meaningful Play 2008 coming October 9-11, 2008 at MSU
Meaningful Play 2008 is an interdisciplinary academic conference that explores the potential of games to entertain, inform, educate, and persuade. The conference includes thought-provoking keynotes from leaders in academia and industry, peer-reviewed paper presentations, panel sessions (including academic and industry discussions), innovative workshops, roundtable discussions, and exhibitions of games.
High School Game Design Camps

MSU and GEL Lab recruit for Serious Game Design MA Track
We are recruiting students now for the Fall 2008 class for the Serious Game Design track in the Department of Telecommunication, Information Studies, and Media Master of Arts degree program. We seek outstanding students with a desire to create and study games which change the world.
The mission of the Games for Entertainment and Learning (GEL) Lab at Michigan State University is to design innovative prototypes, techniques, and complete games for entertainment and learning and to advance state of the art knowledge about social and individual effects of digital games.
The GEL Lab is an association of game research and design faculty and students at Michigan State University, primarily in the College of Communication Arts and Sciences.
